ABOUT THE RENAISSANCE

The Renaissance between the 14th and 16th Centuries was a golden age of exploration, discovery, invention, art, architecture and science featuring legendary luminaries such as Leonardo Da Vinci. The reign of Francis I, who was crowned in 1515, was a landmark period in the history of the Loire Valley, where the King built the Château de Chambord. Various festivities were also held throughout the reign of the King in the royal court.
